Anchors and wall plugs fix sheet-metal and structural components into concrete and masonry: downpipe clips, brackets and supports, the substructure for panels and sheet, chimney cowls and parapet flashings. The through bolt (stud anchor) goes into concrete, the hammer-in plug into solid concrete and block; for hollow brick, plugs are chosen according to the substrate.
The load capacity of an anchor depends on the substrate and on the manufacturer's declaration — no standard is stated for anchors in Modeco's specifications. The components an anchor carries are then joined with screws for sheet and panels (GT6 SP and GT12 SP 5.5/6.3 × 90–150 mm on steel, GTR W 6.4/7.0 × 100–140 mm on timber).
The hole is drilled to the diameter and depth required by the anchor and cleared of dust, then the anchor is set and tightened to the specified torque; too little depth or an uncleaned hole reduce the load capacity. The distance from the edge of the concrete and the spacing between the anchors have to be observed so that the concrete does not break away. A through bolt for concrete does not go into hollow brick.

A through bolt into concrete — it expands in a sound substrate and carries brackets, supports and the substructure; a hammer-in plug into solid concrete and block for pipe clips Ø 80, Ø 100 and Ø 120 mm and lighter components. Hollow brick takes a plug intended for hollow substrates, not an anchor for concrete.
For anchoring downpipe clips (Ø 80, Ø 100 and Ø 120 mm), gutter brackets and supports, chimney cowls on the crown, parapet flashings and the substructure to which sheet and panels are then fixed with screws. The anchor carries the substructure; the panel is held to it by GT6 SP and GT12 SP 5.5/6.3 × 90–150 mm screws.
A hole of the diameter and depth required by the anchor, cleared of dust; the anchor is driven in and tightened to the specified torque so that the sleeve expands. The load capacity depends on the concrete class, the embedment depth and the distance from the edge — the figures are given by the anchor manufacturer, and Modeco ties sheet S320GD to EN 10346 onto a substructure anchored in this way.
