Tile-profile sheet imitates the look of a classic clay tile, but by weight it is a sheet-metal covering — which is why it is often used when renovating roof structures that would not carry real tiles, on houses, holiday homes and agricultural buildings. The cover width is 1100 mm. The same category holds sheet-metal cladding (developed width 1130 mm) for eaves soffits, ceilings and wall linings. Shades: the groups RAL 3009 / 8019 and RAL 7016 / 9005 / 9006 / 9002 / 6028 / 8004.
The substrate is steel S320GD, galvanising Z275 (275 g of zinc per m², both sides) to EN 10346, polyester coating 35 µm. As a self-supporting profiled roof sheet it is covered by standard EN 14782; EN 10346 guarantees the steel substrate and the zinc thickness. Cladding is a lining, not a load-bearing component, so only the sheet standard applies to it.
The battens are set at a spacing that matches the module length of the sheet (the tile step); the sheet is laid from the eaves towards the ridge and from the gable away from the wind, with the overlap in the direction of flow. The screws with an EPDM sealing washer go into the lower part of the pan beneath the step, where the next course covers them. On a cold roof without insulation an anti-condensation fleece is recommended. Cladding is fixed in the groove so that the screws stay concealed.
Questions and answers
1100 mm; the overall width of the sheet is greater by the part that goes into the side overlap, so the quantity is calculated from the cover width. The sheet-metal cladding from the same category has a developed width of 1130 mm.
In two groups of shades: RAL 3009 / 8019 and RAL 7016 / 9005 / 9006 / 9002 / 6028 / 8004. Ridge flashings, verge flashings and flashings are folded from the same colour-coated sheet S320GD, so the roof gets a single shade.
