Modeco from Đakovo: the manufacturer that published its price list

In a trade in which almost everything is done “on request”, one company from Đakovo has published its price list. Modeco d.o.o. produces roof sheets and bends flashings on CNC machines, and on its own pages it keeps public prices by classes of developed width — from 1.38 to 10.09 euros per linear metre. In a trade in which the customer usually receives a figure only after leaving their contact details, that is an unusual move. At the head of the company is Kristina Perči, one of 150 winners of the “Successful Women” award.

A company from Đakovo that roll-forms its own sheet

Modeco d.o.o. was founded in 2017 with its registered office in Đakovo, at the address Ante Starčevića 249. Its core business is the production of roof systems: in its own plant, trapezoidal sheets and tile-profile sheet are roll-formed, while flashings and sheet-metal accessories are bent to measure on CNC machines.

The range follows the logic of the roof from the top downwards — the roof covering, then the flashings, then the drainage. Trapezoidal profiles are made in four rib heights: T-18, T-22, T-35 and T-45, with cover widths of 1100, 1070, 1035 and 1000 millimetres respectively. Alongside them go sandwich panels, downpipes and gutters, and steel structures and prefabricated halls, which the company manufactures and erects.

Why the published price list is unusual

Flashings — eaves flashings, verge flashings, valley flashings, ridge flashings — are made to measure, so they have no price per piece. In the trade that is usually settled with the sentence “price on request”. Modeco instead publishes thirteen price classes according to developed width, from widths up to 10 centimetres at 1.38 €/m to widths from 100 to 125 centimetres at 10.09 €/m, net. A customer who knows the cross-section of their flashing can work the price out for themselves before ringing anyone.

The same holds for the roof covering: trapezoidal sheet ranges from 7.92 €/m² for T-18 in RAL 3009/8019 to 10.00 €/m² for T-45 in RAL 7016/9005, net. Transport prices by distance zones from the plant are published too, from 10 euros for delivery in Đakovo to 112 euros at a distance of 105 to 120 kilometres — an item that customers regularly discover only at the end.

Alongside the price list, the pages also carry interactive tools that calculate from it: a roof configurator, a Flashing Designer in which the cross-section is drawn section by section, and a material calculator which assembles a list from the dimensions of the house and multiplies it by the prices from the price list. The calculation is not a binding quotation — every tool says so expressly — but the customer gets an order of magnitude without a conversation.

A woman at the head of a company that works with steel

Kristina Perči runs Modeco in a sector with one of the lowest shares of women in Croatia. At the second edition of the “Successful Women” conference in the Esplanade hotel in Zagreb she was one of 150 winners of the award, and as a panellist she spoke about financial controlling, leading a team and perfectionism.

From where and how far

Delivery covers the whole of Croatia, with a focus on Slavonia and Osijek-Baranja County. The transport zones from the price list reach up to 120 kilometres from Đakovo — a circle that takes in Osijek, Vinkovci, Vukovar, Slavonski Brod, Županja, Našice and Požega. Longer distances and bulky consignments go on request, because long sheets and panels cannot be sent by parcel delivery but only by dedicated vehicles.

Alongside retail sales and delivery to end customers, the company also carries out B2B batch CNC sheet-metal processing for other contractors and sheet-metal workshops — a part of the plant that is not visible in the catalogue, but that makes up a considerable share of the business.
